Jacob Broker's curator insight, August 18, 2018 1:31 AM
I feel topics like these could just boil down to preference, but I also feel different DAW's could work better for certain types of sound outputs. Like how some think Ableton is the best for EDM while Pro Tools for Rap.

The source I feel is mostly reliable, with the biggest negative being the article is dated in 2012, an opinion, but it is broken down into facts and specific choices, like the vastly superior 64-bit Logic Pro 9 compared to Pro Tools 32-bit, on the flipside Pro Tools is vastly superior when it comes to video post production. All links work in the article, and the author is a solid source as he is a producer, CEO of a few music companies, and wrote Apple's training curriculum guide for logic.

I would say this isn't frequented by professionals, but is a good site for news updates, technical advice, and explores the more intricate of audio aspects in the industry.

This is becoming increasingly more common in the audio world. Most sound engineers are starting to leave the old mixing boards behind and are walking into crowds carrying these iPads or tablets in order to get a truer sound mix. This is going to be the future of the Live Sound recording business. No longer will you be rooted just standing behind a FOH board, but you will now be walking around and constantly moving throughout a room in order to generate the most accurate acoustics across numerous areas of a room or venue.

The Beats By Dre headphones are top notch. I personally own a pair of first generation ones and the quality of sound is great. I can only imagine the music blasting from this model. $300 is a good price for these over-ear headphones.
I believe Engadget to be a very reliable source for new technology information. The website blog should be used as a major resource for audio industry professionals.
