Jessica L. Boston's curator insight, October 29, 2013 2:47 PM

This article is about an Athletic Director (AD) from Greenville High School named Jeff Stafford. Mr. Stafford made a pretty important oversight as a AD and allowed a boy for the Greenville High School boys soccer team play even though he was ineligible. The young man was suppose to be ineligible to play due to his grades from the former year. Mr. Stafford allowed the boy to play on the team not realizing that the boy was ineligible. After a couple games were played the oversight was found and the boy was no longer allowed to play on the team and Mr. Stafford owned up to the mistake and later that day resigned. I find this article to be very insightful because I one day hope to be in the profession of being an AD for a high school. I was able to intern with an AD a year ago and I do remember have to go over the eligibility of all the athlete students to make sure they were eligible for that year and had all there paper work in. Knowing what is expected from an individual in that job is a good way to make sure you know what your getting into even if the job description doesn't say it.
