This article from The University of Western Australia explains how even though asbestos was mined, manufactured, and used throughout the 20th century, the fatal diseases develop much later in life. Therefore people are still fighting for their lives in our society today. This photo appeared in various newspapers: showing Philip Noble (left) who grew up to be a keen footballer before dying from mesothelioma at 36, and Ross Munroe (right) who became a High School Principal and died from mesothelioma at 38.
