The artist led art party conference and the artists led art school/artsmooc | Arts Massive Open Online Course

The artist led art party conference and the artists led art school/artsmooc | Arts Massive Open Online Course | arts mooc | Scoop.it

Great to hear about the artist led Art Party Conference 2013, artsmooc hope there will be some useful debate around finding realistic and sustainable (non corporate) models for providing accessible/inclusive/free arts education, networks and communities.

Artsmooc have began the process of meeting and talking with artists and arts groups and will be announcing new partnerships and affiliations with arts arts organisations who are providing brilliant arts face-to-face activities and projects soon. The artsmooc affiliate partners will collaborate with artsmoocs in the development funding bids for developing hybrid (onsite & online) practice based Arts MOOCs, free and open online ‘endless’ courses/communities/ artist interest networks (an artsmooc for life).

The specialist artsmooc courses will offer unique advice, mentorship and online debate as well as opportunities to participate in the affiliate face-to-face offers. This would mean thousands could take part in an online artsmooc course anywhere in the world and some will also have opportunities to participate locally in face-to-face activities e.g. Crits in London, Liverpool, Scarborough (new york, Sydney) with Q-Art for example or street training in Peckham and Rio de Janeiro for example. There are endless possibilities to work with art creative industries at every level for arts studios, to colleges and galleries.

This initiative aims to attract collaboration from across the sector, including individuals, organisations and collectives from educators, practitioners & the creative Industries. Artsmooc aims to grow a unique ‘hands on’ research and development network of interested and specialist practitioners, affiliate partners who explore and collaborate together on new models of open pedagogy delivery, through practice based Arts Massive Open Online Courses or MOOCs.

The venture aims to explore the collaborative potential of developing and delivering a new sustainable model for accessible arts learning and practice. By partnering with arts support networks and initiatives together with new technological innovation we aim to collectively create an independent and inclusive hybrid open physical and virtual arts learning environment which supports a new dynamic and diverse arts community, with a strong emphasis back on openness and collaboration.
