Artificial intelligence is the next big tech trend. Here’s why. | Artificial Intelligence | Scoop.it
Boasting new momentum, it's ready to move out of academia and into the real world.
Jordan Yacoub's insight:

Watson is a great example for Artificial Intelligence, shaping the world of technology. This piece of smart machinery has created a new meaning for 'AI' in the 21st century. This article provides information that Watson is Artifically intelligent by accessing the worlds database in just a few seconds. This can prove a great source of information when discussing the way Artificial Technology will impact our society within the next 5 years.

NASA to test Google 3D mapping smartphones GCN.com By connecting a smartphone to the SPHERES, the satellites get access to the phone's built-in cameras to take pictures and video, sensors to help conduct inspections, computing units to make...
Jordan Yacoub's insight:

In this site it explains how NASA is using an experimental 3D mapping software that has been created by Google to be used with satellite servicing, vehicle assembly and formations flying spacecraft configurations. This site has information regarding the use of AI with smart thinking technology that can aid the government funded business to make flights outside Earth's orbit much safer and easier.

Zuckerberg and Musk back software startup that mimics human learning | Artificial Intelligence | Scoop.it
San Francisco startup Vicarious aims to create 'a computer that thinks like a person except it doesn't need to eat or sleep'
Jordan Yacoub's insight:

This article talks about how big companies are investing in Artificial Intelligence that is machine learning software based on computational principles of the human brain. This will interoperate videos and photographs in association with the way the human mind works. This gives evidence of the growing economy with Artificial Intelligence that can also prove that this area is growing and will grow bigger within the next 5 years.

Diamond wires could power future computers: Researchers - Mobile Phone | ThinkDigit News

Diamond wires could power future computers: Researchers - Mobile Phone | ThinkDigit News | Artificial Intelligence | Scoop.it
New experiment reveals diamonds potential in computing.
Jordan Yacoub's insight:

This new age of fibre optics will soon become obsolete with the new diamond wires that could power future computers. This diamond wire is made from synthetic and then doctored the diamond with nitrogen, one atom gas per three million diamond atoms. This provides the wire with non heat absorbing material and resistant to acids. This could greatly impact society and the way technology works. With AI coming into place this new diamond wire could substantially increase the efficiency of computers in the near future.

Data guzzlers: Driverless cars will have to consume enormous amounts of information.

Data guzzlers: Driverless cars will have to consume enormous amounts of information. | Artificial Intelligence | Scoop.it
To get around safely and reliably the self-driving car of the future is going to have to consume and process an enormous amount of information.
Jordan Yacoub's insight:

This site demonstrates how AI will be implemented in the average world with driver-less cars. It goes over the topic of how sensors are built into the car to recognise the surrounding objects, the car makers are experimenting with different sensors and different combinations to get the most out of the product to be as efficient and smart as possible. This closely relates to my topic as this is near future technology due to few states having starting to legalise driver-less cars and it being slowly implemented into society and will impact greatly within the next 5 years.

A New Breed of Wearables Will Give You Data You Can Actually Use | Gadget Lab | Wired.com

A New Breed of Wearables Will Give You Data You Can Actually Use | Gadget Lab | Wired.com | Artificial Intelligence | Scoop.it
A new breed of wearables is not only tracking our movements, but analyzing them in a way that previously required a console, a computer, or a trip to a full-fledged lab.
Jordan Yacoub's insight:

Companies are taking wearable technology one step further, excluding themselves from other wearable technology such as watches and devices. This device attaches to your shirt and it does not only read your movement but also collects data in a 3D space and provides analysis of different areas of body awareness. This is a big impact in technology and Artificial Intelligence by gathering information and displaying it in a different concept to what the average device does nowadays.

Meet Snoopy: The DIY drone that tracks your devices just about anywhere | Artificial Intelligence | Scoop.it
DIY stalker device uniquely IDs people by tracking radio signals they emit.
Jordan Yacoub's insight:

The information on this site contains viable documentation for my assignment due to the readings explaining how Artificial Intelligence has been implemented into drones that can correlate between a GPS card and the location of the use that is being detected, this lets the device "Snoopy" to closely spy on phones, tablets, computers and even pacemakers. This proves that technology is advancing and can be done from your own home.
