Though there are countless scholarship options but it is important to be well versed with all the aspects of private scholarships before you apply for them.
Hunter S's insight:

I found this article to help a lot with selecting the right scholarships to apply for. It talks about where to find the scholarships, what scholarships are going to have the best chance of you receiving money, and that you should become well associated with a good counselor. One of the things it talked about was that you should apply for the scholarships that are less known and less famous so that increases the chance of you winning the scholarship. Scholarships that are less known often have a similar amount of money or more. It talks about in this article that even though your academics are great your extracurricular activities can be a lot more impressive in the application for the scholarship. Even though two people have a similar GPA the more impressive one will be the person with the extracurricular activities such as clubs, sports, community service, etc.

Getting a scholarship is a very good option to finance your studies and to fully concentrate on getting your degree instead of worrying about money
Hunter S's insight:

I really like this article and the way that the article explained how to fully complete the scholarship in a broad sense, with a few hints that it provided throughout the article. The article focuses on a few main points. It focuses on prior education, letters of recommendation, language certificate, motivation letter, resume, and prior work. It showed how each of these are important points in a successful scholarship and how the most important thing when filling out a scholarship is to make sure that you are eligible to actually apply. It says that a good thing to do before you start filling out the scholarship and the scholarship essays you should focus on getting all the documents you need to help with filling out the scholarship in order so that it becomes an easier process later. This article is really helpful in describing how to get all of the big stuff in there for the people giving out the scholarship to see.

How to Fill Out Scholarship Applications | The Classroom | Synonym | Applying for Scholarships | Scoop.it
The way you fill out scholarship applications can make or break your chances of getting funding. Sloppy, illegible writing, inaccuracies and incomplete information can spell disaster for your chances ...
Hunter S's insight:

Through reading this article I learned a lot of things I never really thought to think about when filling out an application. I learned to do things such as review the background of the organization giving the scholarship, and also to not make the first draft of the scholarship your final draft. One thing that really stood out to me in this article is that it emphasizes to not leaving a single sport on the application blank because if you don’t have an answer to put down then write “not applicable”. This article really brings out the idea that the scholarship is about you so brag about yourself and show all of your best qualities in the application. I really like this article and the insight it gives on things that are often overlooked and seen as not needed in the application.
