The Creepiness Factor: How Obama and Romney Are Getting to Know You

The Creepiness Factor: How Obama and Romney Are Getting to Know You | APGOVSWAGGIN | Scoop.it

I found it really interesting looking at the attachhed charts, seeing the so claimed corrolations between life style and political choice is interesting. However I wonder about the effectiveness of data programs like these, it seems to identify people at opposite ends of the political spectrum instead of swing voters. Even if there was some sort of hard and fast rule in determining someones political leanings how would these researchers be able to use the data in the advantage of there candidate? Just because you know someone drives a Honda doesnt mean you can use that info to make them vote a certain way. The main point of the article is about the ways campaigners procure this information. I personally dont care if they use social media to find things out about me, people who are worried about other people finding bad things about them on facebook are putting to much personal info up then. While I agree with their methods of data collecting, I dont really see the point in it and I think politicians could find better ways to spend there campaign money.

RealClearPolitics - Latest Election Polls

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney saw a significant jump in the general election polls  after this week's Republican National Commitee. According to the Rasmussen Reports Romney saw a four point lead of Obama and has a 48 to 44 lead. However according to the Gallup Poll, President Obama has a slight 1 point lead over Romney. Either way it seems Romney made up some ground in the race, which is not suprising due to the hype surounding the RNC. However, I think the jump in the polls is less to do with Romney having a good convention and more to do with just the enormous amount of publicity he was given this week. We will see if Romneys gains will stick after the President Obama has his time to shine this week at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. Unless the President tanks this week, I think Romneys gains will quickly fade.
