Rescooped for fun.

She has been disillusioned by the hate. I have too. I can't stand it. Thus, I agree with her. Let the people come to realize what they are doing. It will be bloody. It will be hard. It will not get better if we ignore it.

Money, Power, Ruses, and the Right to Vote

Money, Power, Ruses, and the Right to Vote | Aadil's Anti-Party GOPO Page | Scoop.it

This article reports on the Senate Judiciary Committee's hearing which combined elements of the "Citizens United Court" ruling and the "Continuing Importance of the Voting Rights Act". In the hearing, the Committee tried to bring to light the frightening shift of voting power from lower-income individuals to Corporate entities, with Ctiizens United allowing Corporations to have a say in Politics and multiple states.

One line I felt summed it up particularly well: "It's not logical, it's not credible, to be in favor of one form of election restriction without being in favor of the other."

This is yet another issue that needs to be brought forth and shows another hipocrisy of the GOP (seeing as how its a pro-Democratic article); The GOP has been moving to remove restrictions on Corporate influence in Elections, while at the state level has been increasing restrictions on the abilities of people to vote by requiring Identification that was previously not needed, essentially just becaus they are poor or disadvantaged, in the name of "Voting accuracy".

If the GOP truly wanted voting accuracy, it would make it much easier for citizens to gain these forms of identification, like in Georgia, where Drivers Licenses don't have a fee (Texas IDs do).

Romney's Outrageous Comments

Romney's Outrageous Comments | Aadil's Anti-Party GOPO Page | Scoop.it

Comparing the income of the average Israeli to that of the average Palestinian, as though their prospects at birth had been equivalent and their fortunes today are largely the result of their own efforts and their "culture", is gratuitously insulting and wreaks damage to American diplomacy. Besides that, it's just wrong. Mr Romney may have noticed a rather large concrete wall running between many Palestinian towns and the roads that might otherwise connect them with markets. To coin a phrase, Palestinians didn't build that.

Sept. 2: Split Verdict in Polls on Romney Convention Bounce

Sept. 2: Split Verdict in Polls on Romney Convention Bounce | Aadil's Anti-Party GOPO Page | Scoop.it

In this poll by 538 Political Calculus, the numbers don't look good for Romney; His convention "bounce" was just shy of 4 points, and with Obama in the electoral lead, this could prove to be a dire poitn for him.

So far, the Now-Cast shows Obama with 293.9 Votes and Romney with 244.1 votes, but the Nov. 6 forecast of the poll is even more unfortunate for Romney: Obama's 307.8 to Romney's 230.2.
These numbers seem grossly mismatched given the Popular Vote percentiles:
Now-Cast: Obama 50.0%, Romney 48.5%
Nov. 6 Forecast:  51.0% to 47.8%

and given the fact that the State-by-State Probabilities map gives Romney a giant amount of support in the South and essentially most of Heartland U.S.

It seems, however, that despite this mistmatch, 538 took the numbers of various different polls and averaged them out; the article notes how some polls(Ipsos, Rasmussen Reports) show Romney having a 4-7 point bounce, while others (Gallup) show a decline in Romney's percentile points.

Looking purely at Electoral numbers, Romney's situation is dire. However, I feel of-put by the mismatch, and will be looking for more information on the Electoral statistics so far.

Libertarian candidate calls for withdrawing from Middle East

Libertarian candidate calls for withdrawing from Middle East | Aadil's Anti-Party GOPO Page | Scoop.it

Gary Johnson, Presidential nominee for the Libertarian party, seeks to send a message to Washington by becoming the next Ralph Nader.

Although he has a relatively small following, Johnson speaks volumes; his policies are radically different from those of the big wigs Romney or Obama, and he campaigns in college campuses wearing jeans and a T shirt. His style of speaking directly to the people is winning him numerous supporters in the 47 states that his name is on the ballot, but obviously not enough to win him the election.

Thats not the point his supporters are aiming for either. The Libertarians are coming out in force, not to win an election but to send a message through their combined vote; These are the issues and this is how we want them resolved. Needless to say, they have a long way to go before that voice is loud enough.
