Iowa Lawmakers Respond to social media

  Search engines like Google, are filled with articles, photos and videos about animal cruelty.  The topic is one of both action and in-action.  It can be as small as a person torturing an animal for pleasure and as large as corporations placing profit before decency.  Social media is being used by millions of people some, trying to raise awareness and make change.  Others, place videos and photos of the cruelty and torture for enjoyment and internet fame.  The joy some receive from negative reactions and attention makes social media attractive to all types of people.  Graphic details of cruelty generate the most hits.  People view and share, the question is "why?"  The recent changes in Iowa's law seems to suggest that social media is raising awareness.  Despite public opinion, Iowa has made it illegal to take videos or photos of animals being abused.
