One of the largest civilizations at the time, is one of the mysterious unknown missing cultures. The decline of this civilization began around 1800 BCE. A hundred years later, most of the cities were vacant. No one knows the real reason as to the collapse of the culture, though drought and poor trade with neighbors are thought to be contributing factors.

Ancient India wasn't the safest place to be due to many thefts as well as deaths. The punishments given there were much worse. For example, they would cut your right hand off for pick-pocketing or theft as well as cutting off one's tongue for slandering preceptors.

There seemed  to be so many harsh punishments for numerous amounts of crimes. Losing a body part for robbery or cheating at dice really should've kept the crime rates lower than most countries'.

As one of the more well known leaders of Europe, Constantine was known for uniting the fragmented Roman empire and uniting it (on his death bed) under the banner of a relatively new religion: Christianity.

A 20 yr old woman was accused of having a relationship with a boy from a different Indian community. Her punishment, ordered from the village council, was to be gang raped by thirteen men. There have been several attacks on women over the past year and the number of reported sex crimes in the Indian nation continues to rise.

China is famous for its varieties and use of wooden collars and cages, called cangue. With this form of punishment, a large wooden collar is a fixed around the neck of a convict and it must be worn day and night for a period varying between two weeks to three months.
