Free to Search and Seize | Amendments In Our Time | Scoop.it

The Fourth Amendment is weaker than it was 50 years ago, and this should worry everyone.

Fourth Amendment Prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and sets out requirements for search warrants based on probable cause. Supreme Court ruled that the police should be able to break into a house without  a search warrant if after knocking and annoucing themselves several times.

I disagree with Supreme Court We dont have to let anyone in are house or cars to search without a search warrant thats in the Fourth Amendment we have are right to stress the Fourth Amendment and take advantage of it. If there is no search warrant you cant search.

The girl who dared to tweet about Gov. Brownback - CNN.com

The girl who dared to tweet about Gov. Brownback - CNN.com | Amendments In Our Time | Scoop.it

There is a new scandal breaking involving an elected official, a young woman and Twitter. And, nope, it's not what you think.

An 18 year old girl senior highschool student Emma Sullivan when on a school class trip to kansas state capital as part of youth in the goverment program.  As a joke she jokingly-tweeted to twitter and her 65 followers about Sam Brownback.Sherriene Jones-Sontag is charged of daily montioring of negotive comments about BrownBack they found they tweet a threat to BrownBack and forced 18 year old Emma Sullivan to right an apolgy letter to the goverment of kansas. I stronly disagree with this article how they went about it , First Amendment freedom of speech she was "jokingly" expressing her feelings on twitter it was her right to go and talk about the kansas goverment many things go on twitter about important people in the United States it just peoples thoughts and opinons about them . I dont think noone should have any consquences or be forced to right a letter to apolgize . Emma was using freedom of speech.

Court's refusal to hear handgun case watched in Miss.

Court's refusal to hear handgun case watched in Miss. | Amendments In Our Time | Scoop.it

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear an intriguing gun rights case over whether basic Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms extended into federal park regulations.

This Artice has to do with Amendment 2 protects the right to bear arms. The U.S Supreme Court denied to hear a gun control case  Sean Masciandaro from Woodbridge Virgina was holding a loaded handgun in his car on National Park land near the Potomac River. Masciandaro's attorneys and gun rights groups wanted to ask the court a basic question weather  U.S citzens are allowed to carry loaded guns the court declined this case without no comment.

My Opinion is the Court had no right to decline the case they were violating the second amandment right to bear arms he could of had it in his car for the times where hes in danger or other specific reason when its okay to use the gun to protect yourself.  I disagree with this article and think the court should of listiend to the case instead of disregarding it. It would of been protected under the right to bear arms.

Brief Details Jury Nullification Case Against Julian Heicklen

Brief Details Jury Nullification Case Against Julian Heicklen | Amendments In Our Time | Scoop.it

Federal prosecutors say advocacy by Julian P. Heicklen, a retired professor, is criminal and not protected by the Constitution.

This Article has to do with the first Amendment , freedom of speech. A 79 year old man Julian Heicklen stood outside the United State Court House in Manhattan hold a brouchure and handing them out to several people that said "Jury Info" He basicallt expressed his feelings about Jury nullification and how he disagrred with it. Police tryed to arrested him for jury tempering and expressed that his speech is not protected by the first amendment but others say it was protected under the first amandment but freedom of speech. I strongly disagree with the authorties trying to have him arrested for speaking his thoughts and his opinons if freedom of speech in one of the amendments i think he should be protected by it and have some kind of consquence . violating his rights is wrong and i disagree.

Blind New Jersey Man Challenged Again on Guns

Blind New Jersey Man Challenged Again on Guns | Amendments In Our Time | Scoop.it

Morris County authorities are trying to revoke the gun permits of Steven Hopler, who they say is unfit to own guns, and not just because he is blind.

Steven Hopler, has really been testing the second Amendment. Steven Hopler is blind he has always been blind. Hopler is 49 years old an has been fighting for the right to bear arms. He keeps a stash of loaded guns all over his house . Having a collection more then a dozen guns has been more far complicted for Mr. Hopler. While he was handiling a .357 magnum he shot himself in the shin. While recovering in the hospital someone had entered his house and stole one of his loaded guns the police for more worried he couldn't maintain having guns in his house. Police are trying to take the gun collection away from Mr Hopler so their wont be any more situations like this with him .

I agree with this article and how the police are taking care of it.  He had his second amendment the right to bear arms but when it gets to dangerous especially that Mr. Hopler is blind that puts his life in danger more and other for instince the burgular who stole one of his handguns that put many several people in danger you dont know what he/she is planning to do with that gun.  I certainly think police have every right to take away his guns .
