Sabrina Ramirez, Introduction.

It is important to know your Amendments in case you fase something in the future and someone violates your Amendments. The four Amendments I feel strongly about are the First Amendment-Protects the freedom of religion, speech, and the press, as well as the right to assemble and petition the government, the Second Amendment Protects the right to bear arms, the Fourth Amendment Prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and sets out requirements for search warrants based on probable cause, and finally the Fifth Amendment Sets out rules for indictment by grand jury and eminent domain, protects the right to due process, and prohibits self-incrimination and double jeopardy.

Is Bruno a victim of double jeopardy? - The Observation Deck - timesunion.com - Albany NY | Amendment project hey | Scoop.it

Analysis- The 5th Amendment says "Sets out rules for indictment by grand jury and eminent domain, protects the right to due process, and prohibits self-incrimination and double jeopardy" The prosocuters of Bruno are doing "double jeopardy" which is Unconstituional. Like the underlying spirit and principles of the Constitution’s prohibition against double jeopardy? Wouldn’t we think that those protections and principles were being violated if the government treated us like it’s treating Joe Bruno.

Blind New Jersey Man Challenged Again on Guns

Blind New Jersey Man Challenged Again on Guns | Amendment project hey | Scoop.it

Morris County authorities are trying to revoke the gun permits of Steven Hopler, who they say is unfit to own guns, and not just because he is blind.

Analysis- This relates to Amendment 2. The question is should a blind man be who has accidentley shot himself in the shin have the right to bear arms? Proscuters are repealing steve's right to bear arms. This realtes to the second amendement because the right to bear arms legally allowed by every American. He is still an American and it is his right to be able to bear arms.

Exhibit A in 4th Amendment privacy cases: technology | Amendment project hey | Scoop.it

Analysis- Sunset Strip bookie Charlie Katz suspected the feds had bugged his apartment. The Fourth Amendment states Prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and sets out requirements for search warrants based on probable cause. His court case then ended his conviction because of the Fourth Amendment. This is constituional because FBI agents planted a recording device without a warrant.

I agree with the bookie case he had his rights violated but for the police sargent if you are using a device paid for by the state or company you are working for they should have the right to browse through your messages.

Noah Duncan's comment, March 15, 2013 10:19 AM
The FBI shouldn't be allowed to so easily bug people without warrents, or given consent. This type of thing, I'm sure, happens all the time and goes unnoticed therefore our rights cannot be upheld. \

I don't think the government should be able to GPS track people. That is like searching where you are. You can't search any thing else so why could they search that. The government thinks that they can do anything that they want untill it makes national news and they get sued to stop it.

Occupy L.A.: Cleanup of City Hall campsite begins

Occupy L.A.: Cleanup of City Hall campsite begins | Amendment project hey | Scoop.it

Anaylis- This article on the First Amendement small cadre of police officers remained on the steps on the south side of Los Angeles City Hall early Wednesday, but most had already cleared out after the LAPD's sweep of the Occupy L.A. encampment. This is unconstitutional because the first amendment Protects the freedom of religion, speech, and the press, as well as the right to assemble and petition the government. Therefore, Anyone you should be able to protest and have freedom of speech without getting in trouble for what they belive it.

Judge grants new trials in the Channon Christian, Chris Newsom murders | wbir.com

Judge grants new trials in the Channon Christian, Chris Newsom murders | wbir.com | Amendment project hey | Scoop.it

Analysis- The 5th Amendment states that "Sets out rules for indictment by grand jury and eminent domain, protects the right to due process, and prohibits self-incrimination and double jeopardy" The four defendants; Lemaricus Davidson, Letalvis Cobbins, George Thomas and Vanessa Coleman. They kidnapped, tortured, raped and murdered Channon Christian and Chris Newsom in January 2007.  Because of the double jeopardy rule, none can be found guilty of any higher crime than their previous convictions. I don't agree with this,If someone does commites a crime, and does the same crime again, He or she should have double the time in jail. If they do the same crime again,it means they did not learn their lesson the first time, which should reslut in consequences.

Should any limits be imposed on the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution?

Analysis- This article relates to the Second Amendment. On black Friday a store gave out free gun case's worth $875. Blumnfeld is now questioning if our nation should be allowed to own guns. I think that anyone who wants a gun can have one, I completley agree with the Second Amendment saying " Protects the right to bear arms".

Analysis- Ontario vs Quon battle represents the Fourth AmendmenT, it prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and sets out requirements for search warrants based on probable cause. The court said the limits were minimal, so long as the employer had a "work-related purpose" for inspecting an employee's desk or reading messages sent by the employee. Ontario had no purpose to searching Quon's phone. The search was unreasonable and unconstitutional.

From mass Twitter feuds to the unrelenting iPhone-versus-Android
Analyis- This article represents the First Amendment. 18-year-old Kansas high school student Emma Sullivan turned to Twitter to convey her distaste for the state's governor, Sam Brownback. Sullivan's tweet, while harmless, caused a stir among the Governor's office. The First Amendment states "freedom of speech" We should be able to say whatever we want no matter what.
