I say TME 419, you say TMe-419 – Agricultural Biodiversity Weblog

We have received an email from Prof. Z.R. Celebrating Africa – Agricultural Biodiversity Weblog

Well, while we can all agree that living conditions in many places in Africa may not be up to the standard of the current President of the USA, that hasn’t stopped the continent producing some very remarkable women and men. Eben Lenderking's curator insight, January 7, 4:29 AM

Our enlightenment is coming too slowly, the dissemination of knowledge about the importance of biodiversity and environmental stewardship is happening only too slowly, and the voices of doubters (read profit pursuit over care for the common good, climate change deniers whatever their motive, etc) are slowing this process or stopping it altogether.  And sadly, the damage being done is one that also reduces the chances for our enlightenment.  These are dark times for nature.  Save the pollinators and we save ourselves.

Marijuana goes mainstream

Legalized marijuana is going the way of all agricultural commodities in the United States, and that shouldn’t be a surprise. A really interesting analysis by 538 reveals that the price of pot has dropped for grower and dope fiend alike, and with big money at stake — $6.7 billion this past year and $20 billion … Continue reading "Marijuana goes mainstream"

Crafting a NY beer revival – Agricultural Biodiversity Weblog

There’s definitely something interesting going on in the New York craft brewing industry. But is it the barley, or the hops? And if the hops, is the whole thing being driven by farmers, or scientists? All of the above? Whatever. I can see no downside. Cheers! Oh and meanwhile, in Ghana, something similar may be … Continue reading "Crafting a NY beer revival"

People in other cultures are often portrayed as scary or exotic. This has to change. We want to show how people really live.
