Educreations is an exciting app that transforms your iPad into a recordable whiteboard. It records your voice, handwriting and also allows you to insert pictures to produce your own personal video...

David Rosen's insight:

This could be used by a math teacher, tutor or learners. One can easily make a presentation that includes drawings, text, imported images or photos, and all with a natural voice narrative. Students could use this for math project presentations. Teachers could create math demonstrations that could be used in many ways, including for "flipped classrooms".

Educreations is a free IPad app that allows a teacher, tutor or student to easily draw, import pictures and/or narrate a presentation. This is perfect for student-made science projects. It may also be a good way for teachers to demonstrate a process -- with drawing, illustrations, photos, and personal narrative. Teachers interested in "flipped classrooms" might find this an easy way to make their own "videos" for students to watch before class -- on their iPads.

David Rosen's curator insight, December 29, 2013 8:47 PM

Teachers, tutors or students can easily use this free iPad app for project-based learning, to create "videos" that can be watched before class in a "flipped classroom", or in other ways. You can draw, write, upload photos or illustrations, and narrate everything. For ESOL/ESL, students could build their own visual dictionary entries, taking photos of things or other images they care about, writing the objects' names and definitions, and pronouncing the words in their own voices. This could be a class project, with every student who has access to an iPad contributing to it.

Students and teachers can use this app to make presentations of their writing, and various writing instruction topics. These presentatioins could be used for supplemental instruction, in "flipped classrooms," and in other ways.

Math Coach's Corner: Three Engaging Math Apps

Math Coach's Corner: Three Engaging Math Apps | Adult Numeracy Apps | Scoop.it

"I recently stumbled across a great group of math apps for the iPad and iPhone from Motion Math.  Many of their apps feature free versions with the option to pay for additional levels.  The app that got me hooked was Hungry Fish.  It's incredibly engaging addictive practice for composing and decomposing numbers.  The fish wants to eat a target number.  The player feeds the fish by combining bubbles containing numbers that make that sum."

For very basic numeracy, adding whole numbers. Might be used in a family numeracy context
