We know the negative images of Africa -- famine and disease, conflict and corruption. But, says Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, there's another, less-told story happening in many African nations: one of reform, economic growth and business opportunity.
Andrew Crichton's insight:

This Video discussed the corruption that takes places in Africa, as well as all of the other great things that are happening in Africa. The speaker says that Africa is very thankful for all of the funding, and charity money that they get but that Africa wants to become independent. The speaker talks about how Nigeria is slowing becoming more industrialized. She talks about how they have have started to make phones and they are the second most developing in this area, just behind china. She discussed how they started to tax their own gasoline, and oil. she talks about how when she was in charge of finances they went from 7 billion to 40 billion in just six years. she talks about how the GDP has grown to 6.5%, and it is slowly starting to change the economy in Nigeria. They have had an increase in both housing, and commercial land sales. This speaker goes on to say that in the past three years, the rate of growth in Africa has gone from 2.5% to 5.0%, and that many countries have gone from single party states, to having multiple parties running in one election. This speaker also believes that the only way to really help Africa is to send jobs to Africa so they can start to stand on their own feet.
