This article is about teen binge drinking and its decrease in Australia.

It talks about contrary to common views; binge-drinking rates have fallen in the past few years.

This relates to what we have been doing in class as we have learnt about binge drinking and it's risks and also have been warned against it. this article shows that what is being taught in schools, such as what we are learning, is having some effect on our generation.

I agree with this article because it has facts and statistics to back it up, all which seem credible. I has a comforting message, especially to parents, to know that you people these days are less into binge drinking.

Teenage girls worse drinkers than boys (NZ)

A national survey by Massey University's Social and Health Outcomes Research and Evaluation (SHORE) public health unit revealed this week that teenage girls were binge-drinking more than ever. The survey showed the percentage of females aged 16 and 17 binge-drinking on a night out increased from 9 per cent to 28 per cent between 1995 and 2011.

'Teenage Girls worse drinkers than boys' Point out some interesting points and reasons this could be because is Girls become 'drunk' more easily than men and girls may feel the need to for peer pressure and to recieve attention of males

gabby knight's curator insight, May 21, 2013 6:44 AM

This article shows that gender is a huge part of adolescent drinking, mostly because girls are more attention seeking when it comes to sex and partys if theyre involved.

Isabel Bodey's curator insight, May 13, 2015 4:03 AM

This is very shocking to see that girls feel they have to prove themselves too the boys in saying they can drink more alcohol. In actual fact girls cannot handle as much alcohol as boys can so they are doing themselves much more harm by drinking heaps of alcohol than the boys are doing. Girls need to respect themselves a bit more and know that being drunk and throwing up everywhere is not a pretty look and does not attract worth-while men.
