1. Ideologues- A person who adheres to a system of ideas that form a base for something. ( Many poets in the harlem renaissance were ideologues. )

2. Remonstrated- make a forcefully reproachful protest ( most blacks remonstrated during the 1920-1930's. )

3. Abject- extremely bad, unpleasant, and degrading ( during the harlem renaissance most blacks were treated abject. )

4. Incongruity- not in harmony or keeping with the surroundings or other aspects of life. ( The man who sees not the incongruity has great need of having his eyes anointed. )

5. Vehement- showing strong feelings ( Vehement denial of any search or signal, there is no doubt that no message has been received. )

6. Impetus- a driving force or energy that makes something occur ( To lend impetus to this, he planned an ambitious three day bazaar in the school chapel in september 1908. ) 

7. Influx- an arrival or entry of large numbers of people or things ( Influx of chinese immigrants to american in the 1800's came the introduction of tofu to the us. )

8. Volubly- speaking or spoken incessantly, fluently

9. Bravery- Courageous behavior, character ( They warmly commended the bravery of the rescue workers. )

10. Art- the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination ( Art can be show through music, painting, drawing, and many other things )
