Participating in an 8-week mindfulness meditation program appears to make measurable changes in brain regions associated with memory, sense of self, empathy and stress.

Practicing meditation can play an active role in changing the brain, increase our well-being, and improving our general quality of life. Other studies in different patient populations have also shown that meditation can make significant improvements in a variety of ways, including the activation of more than 200 unique genetic switches that promote better health and increase wellbeing.
