10 Things That Learners Pay Attention To (And How to Use Them in eLearning)

10 Things That Learners Pay Attention To (And How to Use Them in eLearning) | 1-to-1 Implementation | Scoop.it

"Even more than other types of education, eLearning must struggle to attract learners' attention: the Internet is full of distractions, and adult learners are both busier and more free to indulge in distractions. Helping students to pay attention is a primary concern of training professionals, so here are some optimal methods to win the attention game in eLearning."

Project-Based Learning Through a Maker's Lens - Edutopia

Project-Based Learning Through a Maker's Lens - Edutopia | 1-to-1 Implementation | Scoop.it

"The rise of the Maker has been one of the most exciting educational trends of the past few years. A Maker is an individual who communicates, collaborates, tinkers, fixes, breaks, rebuilds, and constructs projects for the world around him or her. A Maker, re-cast into a classroom, has a name that we all love: a learner. A Maker, just like a true learner, values the process of making as much as the product. In the classroom, the act of Making is an avenue for a teacher to unlock the learning potential of her or his students in a way that represents many of the best practices of educational pedagogy. A Makerspace classroom has the potential to create life-long learners through exciting, real-world projects."

This is an interesting look at PBL. I certainly agree with the idea of a 'Maker' being the learner in the classroom.

I like Edmodo as a tool for younger students but I'm not sure I want to introduce this into my classroom at the moment. I'm happy with how my learners are interacting and progressing in the online world.

Anna Davis's curator insight, September 9, 2014 8:10 AM

I love Edmodo and have used it with my students.  I can easily upload documents, pictures, videos and share them with my students.

"One of my groups went above and beyond the standard PowerPoint Presentations that we normally give. They invented their own App to share with the company! The purpose of this App was to help the company sell chocolate in various ways. It provided Google Maps to brick and mortar store locations, product information, social media links, and links to products."
