I have used VideoANT for a number of things. Here are some ideas to get your started:

Bookmarking sections of the video: I mark the start of the section I would like my students to watch and add the questions in the ‘Content’ section of the annotation. Students then click on the time marker and watch that part of the video. They can then add their responses/answers by clicking on the ‘Respond’ button.
Video slideshows: Students make a screencast of their slide presentation and then share it with other students who can then comment on things. I encourage students to add ‘audience participation’ questions to their presentation so students can add comments using the annotation tool.
Mini lessons: I make a short video lesson and then post it for students to watch and add questions and even writing practice in the annotation.
Group projects: Students in groups watch the video separately, adding their comments so they can then come together in class to discuss their findings.
Transcripts: Some videos on YouTube have transcripts, but many don’t. You can add your own transcripts this way by adding your annotation before the text in the video.

Nein. Jeder Blended-Learning-Kurs braucht auch Lehrende für die Erstellung und Betreuung der Online- und Präsenzanteile. Gute Lehre kommt ohne Lehrende nicht aus, egal auf welcher technischen Basis sie steht. Zugegeben, wenn die klassische Vorlesung tatsächlich aus dem Ablesen eine Scriptes besteht und diese Veranstaltung nur aufgezeichnet wird, hat sie potentiell eine unbegrenzte Reichweite. ...

This is an interesting read from the publisher's perspective - one which we don't often consider.  For me the answer has been, for a couple of decades now, writing my own teaching resources.  In more recent times these find their way into class as blended courses on the LMS.  This is better than a digital copy of a textbook from a publisher because I have tracking data too.  Probably this is where publishers should head next.

Sehr mäßig – so schnitten die deutschen Schüler unlängst bei der ICIL-Studie ab, die international Computer-Kompetenzen verglich. Seitdem liegt die Forderung auf dem Tisch: Lehrer sollen ihren Schülern Medienkompetenz vermitteln. Doch wie? Lehrer, das wurde bei einer Umfrage des VBE deutlich, wünschen sich dazu Fortbildungen. Die Landesmedienanstalt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern kommt dem Wunsch nach übersichtlichen Informationen, wie digitale Medien im Unterricht sinnvoll eingesetzt werden können, mit einem Medienkompass in Form eines Ringordners nach – gratis für jeden Lehrer herunterladbar.

Das Vorurteil hört man gar nicht so selten: Studierende lernen die in der Vorlesung gezeigten und in die Lernplattform eingestellten Folien, aber nichts anderes mehr. Dabei sollen sie doch Ihr Wissen auch anwenden, einen Zustand analysieren oder einen Prozess evaluieren können. Stattdessen werden Folien auswendig gelernt und die Ursache dieser Entwicklung sei die Digitalisierung der Lehre.
