Is Google Code In Trouble? No More Open Source Downloads For You | YUTech News | Scoop.it

Google Code got started back in 2006 as an alternative open source code hosting repository and

Modern Marketing Manifesto: Sit At Grown Ups Table, Be Consistent & Commercial, Save World

Modern Marketing Manifesto: Sit At Grown Ups Table, Be Consistent & Commercial, Save World | YUTech News | Scoop.it
There are two big questions about marketing as a discipline at the moment. Firstly, is it becoming more, or less, important within organisations?

Is Marketing Too Responsive For It’s Own Good?
Great post by Ashley Friedlein creating a Call To Action for all marketers to create flexible plans, be consistent, commercial (i.e. generate ROI) and rock the world.

I added "Save The World" since this post is implying as much without actually stating the need for greatness in quite that way. I like to include the "Save The Word" dimension because it forces connection to UCA (Unique Customer Aspirations).

When you walk and talk how your product, brand, company or service saves the world, in some measurable way, you connect with what your customers get from their interaction with you AND how you are different than every one else doing exactly what you are doing.

I understand this excellent post is concerned with creating synergy between digital and non-digital marketing and reining marketing in a tad, but addressing Save The World "brand ideals" is key. We live in a world drowning in self impotent BS (excuse me self important "content marketing" :), so having a sense THE WORLD and how you are helping helps any Internet or non-Internet marketer.

Great helpful post, but don't forget the Save The World thing.

I wrote about finding your UCA and USP for @Atlanticbt

The Role of Color in Marketing [INFOGRAPHIC] | Social Media Today

Love this graphic, part of a solid Social Media Today article about how color converts.

Drora Arussy's curator insight, June 16, 9:46 AM

Color speaks to us - from what the teacher wears in a frontal classroom to what the background color is in a virtual assessment. We want our students to connect and "buy into" what we are teaching, branding is so important. As a side note, note that blue (of blue and white fame) signifies dependability and strength, isn't that what we want our students to see when they think of Hebrew and Israel? Of course, we would love to have all the colors blended in at certain points, be aware of the colors you use across the board - literal and virtual.

Trapit Beta Cool New Content Marketing Tool

Trapit Beta Cool New Content Marketing Tool | YUTech News | Scoop.it
Trap.it: Rule the web.

Via Martin (Marty) Smith
Martin (Marty) Smith's curator insight, May 27, 2:38 PM

Curator's & Creator's Friend
Trapit is a great keyword crawl tool with the ability to "learn" via your behavior (clicking thumbs up or down). As the crawl tool learns your feed gets tighter and more accurate.

If this sounds like the keyword crawl tool from @Scoopit you aren't too far wrong, but Trapit is on steroids. They've isolated the crawl and capture function and improved it with Digg-like "rate the content, learn to tighten the feed" features.

Kudos to the Trapit design team. The interface is clean and connecting the dots takes not time. The ability to use such a complex tool made so simple means double kudos to the UX design team. Things you expect to be there are and functions are easy to find and adjust.

Trapit has already helped with my content curation and I began using it about an hour ago. The more ratings I provide the more the tool will tighten up. Good idea for @Scoopit to do a #StealThis on.

In fact the idea of such a simple dial (thumbs up or down) should be a #StealThis for #Ecom merchants too since. When we move to Web 3.0, a highly dynamic ecosystem controlled by branching algorithms, this smile profiling behavior could become invaluable.

Great tool for ORM too. Online Reputation Management, knowing who is saying what about you, is an important task for any Internet marketing team. Create a Trapit with your company and brand names and you have a quickly learning ORM assistant.

Trapit promises to be a big help in parsing the fire hose into your websites, blogs and social nets.

These Wonderful 3D Infographics Are Taller Than You | YUTech News | Scoop.it

Belgian studio Coming Soon is all about making it big. Their Hand Lettering creations filled a giant chalkboard with letters in a variety of fonts and styles. And with Infographics XXXL, they’ve taken actual graphs and blown them up to a huge size for a client that specializes in the research of nanobodies.

The result is that, instead of casually glancing at the same old pie chart or bar graph, shareholders have something to keep their gaze on the numbers, like a blurry scientist walking by human-size bars or holding up a literal piece of the pie.
