Nice collection of YouTube tips!I’m using a tool call Tube Slicer to create custom thumbnails for my vids and they definitely help get more views.On the last point about the podcast, I think most people are used to having their videos hosted for free on YouTube and they aren’t willing to pay for the media hosting they will need for a video podcast. I know I talked about using a YouTube RSS feed before for content promotion, but you can’t use that feed to get into iTunes. You’ll need to set up an account with Libsyn, Blubrry or another similar media host in order to get the valid feed required by iTunes. Hope that helps.

Blocking spammy users on YouTube might be a good idea.
However, in my experience, most spammers only bother you once and then they move on, so it might not be worth the time it takes to block them. On the other hand, if it makes you feel good - Go For It!
