Throughout my college education, I frequently used YouTube. Because YouTube has vast amount of videos and a links to other videos, it is sometimes hard not to watch the next or related video. The tricky part is, the videos are usually range between 5 to 10 minutes and you would think that it will take you another hour or two to pull away from  playing around on YouTube. However, that's how it often is in reality, "You realize it when a couple hours has passed and you haven't really done anything useful.

This article explains that YouTube can serve as aid to explaining material to students. It can become  new medium and could sometimes serve as a visual aid, when teacher has lack of resources or materials at hand.

Impact of YouTube on Higher education

As I had mentioned in the beginning  of the course I was deeply impacted by YouTube throughout my college years. I remember that I was taking an online Marketing course. The content of the course was difficult to grasp, more so to use it in context. I remember that I looked up instructional videos on YouTube, which would help me make sense of the concepts  and  being able to apply them to real life situations. Another example that I remember is when I took biology class. I remember that it was time before exams and  was struggling with DNA and RNA make up and other concept. I remember that I looked them up and once I had watched a video that was created through computer graphics, everything started to make sense.
