Children of Same-Sex Unions: New Research on Family Stability and Structure

Children of Same-Sex Unions: New Research on Family Stability and Structure | Youth and Family (1) | Scoop.it
Synopsis: Comprehensive research showing how children growing up in heterosexual families are more likely to perform better academically.

Comments: Despite the seemingly reliable and comprehensive research methods, such results should be examined in the current social context. Given how a heterosexual family is the norm, it is almost inevitable that growing up in a homosexual family would be more challenging, resulting in the presence of certain negative impact. The results are not a direct reflection of the nature or "deficiencies" of a homosexual family and is by no means an accurate indication of homosexuals' parenting skills. Extenuating circumstances should be explored and taken into account for the study to be an even more reliable one.
