There are different positions to do meditation, according to the type that you want to perform. The mostly used the lotus pose, but the most important thing is that you are comfortable in the position: so you can simply cross your legs and close your eyes. Instead, if you are not comfortable, it can compromise your meditation and would be impossible to relax. You can sit in different position, according to your flexibility. You can sit on your meditation seat with your legs loosely crossed and both feet resting below the opposite thigh or knee. This method is called quarter lotus. A variation is the Half Lotus: Your legs are crossed with one foot resting on the opposite thigh. The other foot can fold underneath the top leg and rest below the knee or thigh. If you can do it, try the full lotus pose: our legs are crossed with both feet resting on top of your opposite thighs. If you want, you can also meditate lying down You can, but you’re more likely to fall asleep. If you’re going to do that you could place your feet on the ground with your knees up in order to maintain a sense of wakefulness.
