Lauren Silva's curator insight, October 12, 2014 7:25 PM

It is disgusting to allow a court ruling where men think that just because a women is not prudently clothed. means it is okay to over-sexualize her body. This article ends well, stating that "just because women's bodies are in public, doesn't mean they're public property." Any human has the right to wear what they please, as long as they enjoy what they are wearing. Women shouldn't fear wearing skirts and dresses, and what they please, to widely traveled to monuments because men aren't properly deterred from being disgusting pigs. I think that this incident was a perfect opportunity for people with power to affect rape culture positively. However, the court determined that men can peep up women's skirts and only face disapproving looks. I am ashamed to live in a time where a women in such a powerful position can still succumb to a man's disgusting behavior and allow the disgusting behavior of men like Christopher Cleveland.
