C&RL Online Fora: Creating a Culture of Assessment in Academic Libraries

C&RL Online Fora: Creating a Culture of Assessment in Academic Libraries | Xina's E-learning Collection | Scoop.it

A culture of assessment can be defined as “assessment is a regular part of your institutional practice” – but what organizational characteristics and practices assist or hinder the develop of such a culture?  Join College & Research Libraries for a live panel conversation on creating and maintaining a culture of assessment at your library and factors associated with it. The panelists will discuss the C&RL pre-print study “Bridges and Barriers: Factors Influencing a Culture of Assessment in Academic Libraries," share ideas for both administrators and front-line librarians working to build such a culture, and explore relevant ACRL initiatives.

Assessment is a key part of any design effort - helping you measure impact and effectiveness.

Carlos Fosca's curator insight, July 29, 2014 12:41 PM

NFAIS | Trends in Higher Education: Content, Services and Business Models, April 26, 2013 | Xina's E-learning Collection | Scoop.it

This workshop will provide an overview of the current educational trends sweeping college and university campuses.  It will take a look at a case study on the adoption of MOOCs at a major university, new forms of content such as open textbooks and e-textbook adoption, and how traditional publishers are packaging their content for today’s new “classrooms.”  In addition, the workshop will take a look at the results of a recent study on the return on library investment in content.  The meeting will close with a look at the future of higher education and how that future is driving the acquisition and divestiture of content across the publishing community.

I decided to revisit a post I've done on sites for educational games.  This list, presented in alphabetical order, has a nice mix of subjects and grade levels that teachers can use with their students.
