Fujifilm X100s: Full Review

Fujifilm X100s: Full Review | x100S | Scoop.it

The X100s is effectively a souped-up version of the X100. With its added "s", Fujifilm sets the tone for this new camera—the X100s is the same, but better. XTrans technology is now on hand to improve the sensor and Fuji is promising boosted responsiveness. So does the X100s really bring something new to the table or are Fuji's tweaks so minor that we'll be left wanting more? Read on to find out.

Fuji X100S Review

Fuji X100S Review | x100S | Scoop.it

I have a confession to make. I haven’t RTFM.

Nonetheless, ever since receiving my Fuji X100s by courier, I excited unwrapped it and gave it a whirl over a course of three days. Admittedly, I haven’t really put it through its paces with my busy schedule, but having now seen the results (see below), I can’t wait to use the X100s properly.

When the X100 was first released, there was excitement in the air. Fuji had released something that looked fantastic; it was aesthetically what every hipster and hipster-in-denial craved for. Alas, the X100 was crippled by a lack lustre autofocus and manual focus system.

Then Fuji released the X100s.

Fujifilm X100S Hints & Tips

Fujifilm X100S Hints & Tips | x100S | Scoop.it

I’ve just picked up an X100S so I thought I’d  go through the manual carefully and see what’s new.  Whilst reading the manual I realised there were a few things I’d never actually known about my X100!  Many of these hints and tips can be applied to the X100 as well, but bear in mind I’m writing this primarily for the X100S.

I’ve done a little write-up of some of the options that aren’t all that obvious unless you’ve read the manual (as many of us don’t!) and include some hints and tips of how I use my X100S that might help you get the best out of your camera.

A Short Story told Short and Long - 30min with the Fuji X100S

A Short Story told Short and Long - 30min with the Fuji X100S | x100S | Scoop.it

Today a friend of mine lent me her Fuji X100S. I went for a 30min walk around my house to see how it felt. I have to admit that it takes a long while to adapt, specially coming from 7 years of using a Canon 5D almost exclusively.

In short: I love how small, inconspicuous, pretty, fast and SILENT it is. The digital viewfinder should be a must in every camera being manufactured.

In long: I’m selling a Canon 5D.
