Traveling and editing like a boss with a Fuji X-T1 + iPad & Lightroom mobile | Jayson Oertel

Traveling and editing like a boss with a Fuji X-T1 + iPad & Lightroom mobile | Jayson Oertel | Fuji X-Series | Scoop.it
Remember the days when you were traveling and had to lug around your heavy, full-size DSLR? Add a few lenses, some basic equipment needed for a shoot, your laptop, cables, chargers, etc. and it quickly adds up to 15+ pounds. Those days are over. At least for me. I’m pretty sure by now you know how much I love my Fuji Xcam system. In addition to the amazing image quality that Fuji’s are known for, there is another huge benefit of owning these powerful cameras: traveling light with pro gear. When Fuji announced the X-T1, I was super excited for the new, upgraded sensor as well as other features such as the ability to use UHS-II SD Cards, the interval timer, and more. There was one feature that I was indifferent on, until now: built-in wifi on the camera. Oh yeah, in case you didn’t hear, Adobe recently released Lightroom for mobile. Yes, you heard that right…Lightroom for mobile! Let me explain where I’m going with this… The days of traveling with bulky gear is over. With my Fujifilm X-T1, I’m now traveling light AND have all the gear I need to shoot, edit, and deliver photos to my client – from the road........

Controlling a Fuji X-T1 with the Fujifilm Camera Remote WIFi APP | Tom Grill

Controlling a Fuji X-T1 with the Fujifilm Camera Remote WIFi APP | Tom Grill | Fuji X-Series | Scoop.it
We wanted to do a straight down lifestyle photo of a group of friends eating together at a table. This called for the camera to be located directly overhead and centered on the table, which meant there was no way for me to operate it directly or to even look in the viewfinder or LCD. I didn't want to do an elaborate setup because we had many other scenes to do that day and I didn't want to waste any time. I immediately chose the Fuji X-T1 because its light weight made it very easy to suspend over the table with a simple pole cat setup. Additionally, the Fujifilm Camera Remote APP for wireless control of the camera is one of the best I have seen. I have it on my cell phone and on my tablet, and use it for situations just like this......

hpc's curator insight, July 13, 2014 4:01 PM

Morning until there safely parked with the car to Leverkusen then we took a regional train to Cologne Central Station where we started directly with the Thalys to Paris train station "Gar du Nord".

I had long wondered what lenses should I bring to my X-T1. The 18-55 and 55-200 zooms along with the 14er, or only fixed focal length?

New photos of abandoned buildings taken with the Fuji X-T1 | Carlo Di Giusto

New photos of abandoned buildings taken with the Fuji X-T1 | Carlo Di Giusto | Fuji X-Series | Scoop.it

I'm always here, in Tarvisio, looking for abandoned buildings. Today I visited a group of buildings near the old central railway station of Tarvisio. I only had time to photograph one, which had inviting open doors. And many shooting opportunities, as shown by this ten photographs. Ok, I should not have come in, but what I saw from the outside was too inviting not to be captured before a likely future demolition. Do not you think these rooms are fascinating? I used the Fuji X-T1 and the 14mm f/2.8: a perfect match for this kind of photography. The objective is really free of distortion and thanks to the electronic level in the viewfinder of the X-T1 is easy to shoot keeping the sensor parallel to the walls of the room. All the photos are taken without a tripod and they needed just a slight correction in Lighroom 5 to get precise lines....

John Bouma's insight:

long exposure photography with my X-Pro1.

I used a 0.9 ND Filter combined with a pola filter to get this result. There was stil to much light in my opinion, so i had to use a very small aperture, but it worked out really well.
