8. Keep your head on the objective. 1. Additional leads may develop. 2. Innocence or guilty. 3. Confession from suspect. "Fill in" the missing pieces with what you know. 1. If others were involved. 2. Evidence obtained by person who committed the crime. 3. Discover other crimes committed. 4. Any statements given have to be voluntary, record it if possible.

9. The best information about the person is from themselves. Best way to get the information is to ask them. Learn to effectively get answers by asking questions.

10. You will talk with a lot of people. Most are not criminals. "Most who you talk to are victims, witnesses, accusers, informants, relatives, friends, bystanders, third parties, merchants, house owners, officials, and the homeless. You will talk with all classes of people.
