If you want your brain to create new brain cells..exercise!
Jamie Swanstrom's comment, February 12, 2014 11:18 AM
2. Several experiments have proved that exercising your brain can redesign it by creating new brain cells. Inactivity can have an effect as well. Scientists at Wayne State University School of Medicine studied rats by letting them run on their own wheels at first and then after three months, they were injected with a dye that colored specific neurons in their brain. The scientists wanted to mark neurons in an uncommon portion of the brain that control breathing and other things we do unconsciously. The rats that had been active had noticeably different neuron shapes in the nervous system region of brain than that of the inactive rats. The active rats' brains were shaped the same as before the experiment.
