Best education related books and videos of 2012

Best education related books and videos of 2012 | Scriveners' Trappings | Scoop.it

I was motivated by Larry Ferlazzo, who's been doing something like this for about 4 years, to ask readers of this site to recommend what they've liked reading or viewing in the past year. The book or video need not be directly related to education, but hopefully there is some connection. The media does not need to have been published in 2012, just that you read or viewed it this year.

Please make your addition by adding a comment below. Please give the book title and author, as well as a few sentences regarding what you liked about it. If you are recommending a video, please give its title (if there is one) and the name of the main speaker (or speakers), along with what you liked about it. In addition, it would be great to provide the URL so foks can navigate to it easily.

Thanks to all...and best wishes for the holidays.

Jim

Hi Barbara, There is no link to anything for this post. I'm sorry if I was not clear. The idea is for readers to post their responses in the Comments section, as you did with your question. So...what have you read or seen this year that you thought was really good; and why?

Digital storytelling: How to tell a story that stands out in the digital age | Scriveners' Trappings | Scoop.it

Jasper Visser: "To address the most important issue first: there is no such thing as digital storytelling. There’s only storytelling in the digital age, and frankly speaking this isn’t much different from storytelling in the age of hunters, gatherers, dinosaurs and ICQ" ...
