BlackBerry pleads for patience after brutal quarter

BlackBerry pleads for patience after brutal quarter | Wireframes and UI, UX | Scoop.it
One analyst describes BlackBerry's results as a 'complete disaster' as the company disappointed on virtually every single financial metric. Read this article by Roger Cheng on CNET News.
PowerStory's insight:

Perhaps a bit off topic, but a good reminder about developing something compelling.

I don't understand why the analysts would be surprised by such a terrible quarter by blackberry....Being Canadian, I would love to see Blackberry do well, but lets be honest here...they have no compelling reason for an apple or android user to switch.  Even Microsoft with it's office integration which can be argued is a compelling reason to switch to a windows phone struggles with any real market share.  You could even argue that the UI design of the windows phone is better than Apple or Android...but yet it still is not compelling enough it seems to gain significant market share.

This is just a reminder to all of us that design products that if you are a minority player in a market dominated by 1 or 2 vendors, think twice about entry or make sure you have something that is just too compelling to ignore.
