On Thursday 4 April, HMA Susan le Jeune d'Allegeershecque went to Windsor Castle to be received in Audience by Her Majesty the Queen. This meeting is called an Audience of The Queen, but is also known as "kissing hands". It is part of the ceremonial protocol involved in the appointment of our Heads of Mission. This was the first Audience where all the Heads of Mission were female. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has 39 female Heads of Mission around the world.
