Google removed at least two Android apps that simulate Israeli air strikes on Gaza from its Play Store Monday. The apps were pulled after angry users took to Twitter to criticize Google for allowing the apps in its Play Store.
Notch and the two other co-founders are set to leave as part of the deal that focuses on mega-hit Minecraft. An investor release claims Microsoft expects to break even on the acquisition by the end of June 2015.
Coowon browser is a chrome based browser, advertised as the best game browser (for browser games, of course).
The main feature here is the gamepad controls. Which I found works with very few games. The feature to speed up games could come in handy. The macro plugin similar to imacros for Firefox and Chrome, to record and play back a sequence of mouse clicks - making bots, in other words. You can login to multiple accounts, without having to open incognito window, with the 'multiple login' feature. Also has enhanced functionalities such as mouse-gesture, drag to go etc.
It's not really there yet as far as a gaming browser, with gamepad controls . Some custom picked cowoon extensions help with some of the community favorite games controls.
However, I like the floating window feature, just to browse youtube videos etc. while working in chrome. I use the little Cowoon window that can change transparency, just to watch and control some youtube playlists in a small, floating window. I'm sure you could add some extensions to Chrome itself to accomplish the same thing.
With Blizzard currently focusing all of its real-time strategy mojo on the StarCraftseries, it may be a very long time before we see a real Warcraft IV. In the meantime, modders have us covered: Warcraft: Alliance and Horde takes the sci-fi StarCraft IIand replaces everything with the characters, setting, and lore of the Warcraftseries.

Video games are often used as a learning tool, but most educational games focus on word memorization or the magic of math. However, many game theorists and economists are beginning to realize that video games have something more significant to teach us about the function of our societies, governments, and economies. In 2001, economist Edward Castranova wrote a groundbreaking paper about the economy of EverQuest. In his paper, Castranova revealed that EverQuest’s currency was more valuable than the Japanese Yen, and that the game’s gross national product was actually bigger than that of China or India. Castranova is now a telecommunications professor at Indiana University Bloomington and is currently working on a book about evolutionary game theory and how virtual economies are drastically influencing our own.
How far away are we from making believable alternate realities that could have a person fooled?
We can emulate walking, with a treadmill like Virtuix Omni. We can get a pretty realistic visual experience with the Oculus Rift.
It will get pretty clunky, adding more of these gadgets (what about gesture gloves, to feel stuff, or maybe add the kinect into the mix). Maybe some of these future/developing gadgets to read your mind, might make the controls a bit easier?
At last, a new edition of Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook has been released. This version of the world's first RPG wants to satisfy old-school gamers and draw in newcomers at the same time. With its classic feel, combined with buffed and polished rules, it just might succeed.
