So you want to form your own state? It may take a while

So you want to form your own state? It may take a while | World news | Scoop.it
Voters in five Colorado counties said on Tuesday they want to form their own state. But the breakaway regions face almost impossible constitutional and political obstacles. The North Colorado movement supporters claim that their counties have little in common with more urbanized parts of the state, and they are unhappy with state-wide laws about gun control and energy standards.

Harper Wharton's insight:
World news: many states always bring up that they would like to depart from America. But when you bring it to reality, it is almost impossible. You have to get approval by the state of colorado then the state congress. Then have to get it approved by most of the other 49 states. So in all, it is almost impossible for this to happen.

Oral History and September 11th

Oral History and September 11th | World news | Scoop.it

Via Seth Dixon
Harper Wharton's insight:

Tomorrow is 9/11, a day that America will never forget. At my old school, we learned a lot about 9/11, and when it was the day of the Twin Towers we would watch videos on the incident and read books on it. Learning about the Twin Towers is an intersting topic to me because I love to find out why the people would do this to America and how America retaliated. I would love to find out more about the Twin Towers this year.

Harper Wharton's insight:
Scoop it of my choose: to me, this was a very touching moment. This troubled boy, was given a question, when everybody assumed that he would just say 'no' but when he says yes, and explains why, I could see the audience with sorrow and forgiveness to this young boy. What a great young boy, and an amazing moment that was shared.
