Chris Tat's insight:

I find this article interesting because I did my essay on education.  It is intriguing to find out that the students started school almost 2-3 years later compared to modern day where children attend school at the age of 4.  I also love the emphasis on sports school!

Chris Tat's insight:

Another great article that demonstrates how history constantly repeats itself; this article describes the downfall of a warrior.  It seems like every great warrior has the same tragic downfall of pride.  If the great warrior just listened or learned from the past, you wonder if any great warrior lived a great legacy.

Drug References Found on Walls of Ancient Egyptian School | World Civilizations | Scoop.it
The Greek writing on the walls includes text about ancient drug use that references Homer's epic poem 'The Odyssey,' archaeologists said, adding that this is the first-known structure confirmed to be a school in ancient Egypt.
Chris Tat's insight:

That is something to ponder about.  Did they really have drugs back in the ancient world and what were its function?  History never ceases to bring out surprises and reveal that the past had the same struggles as the present.

It is very amazing to see modern day technology mixed with old legends to create a master piece.  Using ancient history and combining with modern day history creates an amazing firsthand experience of experiencing history.  I am still shocked that Antigone is still a popular play today!
