www.nevermindgame.com "Nevermind" is a first person horror puzzle/exploration game that leverages biofeedback technology to detect fear in the player. Taking place within the dark and twisted landscape of a trauma victim's mind, players will have to force themselves to face horrific scenarios and brave the menacing unknown. While plumbing the depths of the patient’s memories, the player must be brave enough to face whatever horrors exist around every corner, while controlling his fearful or anxious reactions to whatever he may find. Should the player lose control of his stress level, the patient’s mind will react and impede his ability to progress until he restores his sense of calm and control.

Psychologists and sociologists are only now beginning to understand why the human ability to play is so powerful. "After earning his Ph.D. in clinical and social psychology from the University of Rochester, Scott Rigby helped found Immersyve, a research company designed to examine some of these basic human needs and discover what makes video games so appealing. After collecting several years’ worth of behavioral data and conducting numerous in-house studies from companies like Sony, Activision, and Warner Bros. Interactive, Rigby feels Immersyve has nailed down a few key motivations behind our addiction to fun...."

We often struggle to motivate our employees to overcome necessary obstacles, so putting more roadblocks in the way may seem like madness. But games play on our need for mastery, our desire to do well and our drive to "beat the game".
