Suicide bombings around the city of Baghdad does not stop Iraqis from celebrating that the 10-year old curfew imposed first by the USA has finally come to an end. It is dangerous, but people need also some time to enjoy themselves.

The United Nations, which is the legal guardian of scores of human rights treaties banning torture, unlawful imprisonment, degrading treatment of prisoners of war and enforced disappearances, is troubled that an increasing number of countries are justifying violations of U.N. conventions on grounds of fighting terrorism in conflict zones.

UN´s Human Rights spokesman claims that countries are forgetting about human rights, as they are focusing more on battling terror. He argues that the way to stop terror is not through wars, but through the education of the people.

Using free heroin has now become so easy, addicts are beginning to feel like society has given up on them.

Super-interesting the approach the Dutch took to tackle the heroin problem they had. They just offered free, pure heroin to people who were completely addicted and did not seem to be able to quit anytime soon. The outcome has been that now cities are mostly clean from heroin addicts and the heroin problem... Well. It is no longer a problem.
