4 Ways to Avoid Fatigue at the Gym / Fitness

4 Ways to Avoid Fatigue at the Gym / Fitness | workingout | Scoop.it
Ethan Shum's insight:

Ways to avoid fatigue are easy.

one of the worst things you can do at the gym is hit a plateau in your workout routine. The best way to do this is to mix up up your exercises; applying muscle confusion.

One thing that many people tend to do is over-train. This is where you over-exert yourself to the point where the kinetic chain of your body begins to break down at various points. you always want to make sure you always make sure if your hurting then dont work out. for example if you injure your shoulder then you'll be out for awhile.

Having rewards for yourself are important because all that hard work needs rewards. these rewards will help you work harder and make you work toward newer goals trying to get that new reward for yourself.

Sometimes your body and head are not in sync and you need to take a break. You just got to know when to get back into the action.

Ethan Shum's insight:

This is a good article for people needing a gym and don't want to spend a bunch of money. if you dont have time to get to the gym then a home gym is perfect for you.

buying a jump rope is very good because jumping rope burns as many calories as running you can burn 100 calories with 10 mins of jump rope.

kettle bells are really good because they work you entire body with correct form variety of exercises. the shape of the kettle bell makes you body work harder than an ordinary dumbbell

i dont really agree with the stability ball (but those are good), what you really want is to get is a pull up bar you can put in your door way (pull ups are the best way to get a strong athletic upper body because they work the main muscles in your back.

Studies show that bike commuting is one of the best ways to stay healthy

Studies show that bike commuting is one of the best ways to stay healthy | workingout | Scoop.it
Biking for transportation appears more helpful in losing weight and promoting health than working out at the gym.

Ethan Shum's insight:

They say that riding bike to work is healthier than actally working out in a gym. this is true because at the gym most people dread the work outs they don't want to do; when biking you have a smile on your face and you happy releasing seratonin which is good.

“Commuting is a relevant health behavior even for those who are sufficiently active in their leisure time.” “It may be more realistic to accumulate physical activity through active transport than adding exercise to weekly leisure-time routines.” this one i totally agree with, when your working out, you don't want it to be a chore you want it to be a fun expirience.

The four-year study of 822 adults found that found that people commuting to work by car gained more weight on average, even if they engaged in regular exercise, than people who did not commute by car. Most people can't find 30 to 90 minutes to exercise to curb obesity that is why "active transport" is the way to go.The key advantage of traveling by bike over working out at a fitness center is that most people find it easier to do. Instead of vying for scarce free time with many other fun and important things, exercise becomes something we do naturally as part of daily routine.
