Russian President Vladimir Putin promised gay athletes won't be persecuted by the country's strict anti-gay laws during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

This represents culture in a much larger situation. The difference in culture throghout the word almost cost LGBT athletes the opportunity to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics. The diffference of globalization and culture shows that culture differs everywhere you go and each has their own culture.

I liked this article because of the perspective it takes. It talks about the organizations view as well as the view of consumers. This is very important to a sport organization because ticket sales and merchandise are both vital sources of revenue. It shows that an organization with a strong culture will carry throughout the organization to the consumers, the fans.

Another reason this relates to culture is because in an organization communication is a major part of the culture. When people withhold information the culture of the organization can begin to crumble.
