"Ahead of the Third Euromed Ministerial Conference on Strengthening the Role of Women in Society to take place in Paris on 11 and 12 September, the EU Neighbourhood Info Centre has released a video and a press pack to highlight cooperation between the EU and its Southern Neighbours in the field of gender equality.

 The Paris Ministerial Conference, to bring together Ministers in charge of women’s affairs and gender equality from the 43 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean aims to further support women and girls of the Euro-Mediterranean region in their quest for empowerment and equality. It is expected to further contribute to a positive change in attitude and behaviour towards women and girls in the region, strongly condemning all forms of violence and discrimination against them."

I chose this article ,because empowering women through literacy is important. The world revolves around reading, you need to read to get around. This article related to half the sky because the women that were in Half the Sky were very uneducated, and since they were uneducated that means they couldn't depend on their selves for necessities. When you are able to read and when you are educated you are able to provide for you and your family, and you have your own voice. i
