During World War II, some 350,000 women served in the U.S. Armed Forces, both at home and abroad. Between 1940 and 1945, the female percentage of the U.S. workforce increased from 27 percent to nearly 37 percent, and by 1945 nearly one out of every four married women worked outside the home. More than 1,000 WASPs served, and 38 of them lost their lives during the war. . More than 310,000 women worked in the U.S. aircraft industry in 1943, representing 65 percent of the industry’s total workforce

This Is a power point I found about women in military during ww2. Since December 1941 350,000 women served in the armed forces. While they were in the military they had jobs such as clerks, mail sorters, typist, and photography. The woman that was a part of WAC women’s army corps were sent overseas and work as radio/telephone operator.

World War II was the first time that women served in the United States military. It all begin December 1941, 350,000 women served in the United States Armed Forces, during WWII. The women also served in the Marines and in a branch of the Coast Guard called SPARS. According to this website “About seventy percent of women who served in the military during World War II held traditionally "female" jobs. Women were not permitted to participate in armed conflict but their duties often brought them close to the front lines.

This story talk about women in the military during ww2. Almost 400,000 women served the armed forces .Many women in the military  served in the Army and Navy Nurse Corps, Women's Army Corps (WAC), Army Air Forces, the Navy's Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES), in the Marine Corps Women's Reserve, and in the Coast Guard (SPARs). Many women were prisoners of war and some died in the service of their country.
