In most cases, free is not the best option for a consumer who’s concerned with quality. Usually I collect artists vinyls instead of buying their albums from iTunes because of my love for album art. When you buy an album on a vinyl, most of the time it comes with a link for the legal downloadable copy of the work. It’s almost always worth the extra few pennies.

Major companies know a good businesss model when they see one.

Huge catalogue, zero risk-taking. No doubt Uvinyl will make plenty of dough out of wax.

Christine Rose Infanger's curator insight, July 16, 2013 10:40 AM

A good idea, to be sure, but it's a bit easier to get behind a struggling band and want to help them fund a project than it is to expect the public to give their hard earned money to a multibillion dollar corporation.
