Strong growth in the U.S. wine market seems to be confirmed daily with a steady flow of new reports showing record case volume and dollar sales. But in the latest research report by Rabobank's Food and Agriculture Research group, it is the growth at the premium end of the market that is capturing the interest of the wine community, not just in California but across the globe.

The trend favoring premium wines was evident before the global financial crisis beginning in 2008. Although the financial contraction that followed hurt wine sales overall, there were subtle but significant shifts during the economic downturn that actually helped confirm the ongoing shift in consumer preferences toward higher end wine.

 O restaurante Viva Lisboa, na zona do Saldanha, Hotel Neya, Lisboa, tem um novo chefe e um novo menu que estão a dar que falar. A carta foi criada pelo chef Miguel Laffan (do L'AND Vineyeards) e está agora a cargo do seu pupilo, Pedro Miguel Almeida. Os pratos são de fusão, assentes numa base mediterrânica, privilegiando os produtos frescos, saudáveis e de origem nacional. Essa é, aliás, uma das mais marcantes características da carta: a aposta em produtos sustentáveis.
