Portuguese Red Grape named Yellow! | Wine Liquid Lisbon | Scoop.it

Did you know...? Tinta Amarela is a red grape variety. It's one of the most widely spread Portuguese varieties. It is a difficult grape variety to work with, characterized by irregular yields and somewhat susceptible to adverse moulds, but in good years it produces great wines. It has excellent acidity, soft, abundant tannins and intense aromas of plum and blackberry, resulting in balanced and elegant wines. Tinta Amarela is one of the varieties that can be found in the old vineyards of Quinta do Bom Retiro. It is also part of the blend of Ramos Pinto Duas Quintas classic red wine.
