Ever wanted "lasting glory and fame"? Now's your chance!

 

Professor Bruce Reisch at Cornell is asking for help finding more romantic names for NY76.0844.24 and NY95.0301.01.

 

Maybe Fricka or zähtraminer for the white? Blau Spritzen (good if it makes a sparkling wine) or Genevay for the red?? Maybe I'll come up with something better tonight after a glass of wine?

Marquette Anyone?

Marquette is a grape variety that seems to be getting some traction in cooler vineyards to the north of the USA.

 

It's interesting to read that there's an academic project trying to find grapes that work well in marginal areas and how best to handle them. This sort of work can only help improve wines.

 

Somebody, send me a bottle to try!
