5 mindsets that set winners apart

5 mindsets that set winners apart | Wiki_Universe | Scoop.it
“five mindsets that set winners apart:1. They discover what makes them unstoppableYou must love what you do or you’ll never have the mental toughness to be a winner. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi coined the phrase "flow" as meaning a state of deep absorption in an activity during which your performance seems to happen effortlessly and automatically.Psychologists explain that when we do something excellent, that we feel is top performance, it triggers the feeling of "flow." We love what we are doing; and damn, we’re good at it!As a child, my favorite topic was history, but I decided to major in business because I felt it would provide more career options. Then, I became an FBI agent and loved the work. When I thought it through, I realized the common thread between history and FBI investigations was my passion to sift through information to get to the truth of the matter and create a picture of what really happened. How to make it work for you: Take the time to discover what it is about pursuits in life that truly engage you, and why. Be specific.”

Why AI needs to drop the word ‘intelligence’

Why AI needs to drop the word ‘intelligence’ | Wiki_Universe | Scoop.it
Few would argue that AI has progressed faster than expected, with self-driving cars and significant advances in machine learning, deep learning and reinforcement learning. In some cases the practical applications clearly transcend human capabilities and competences. We don’t need to see ‘intelligence’ at the centre of this solar system. The Copernican move is to remove this term and replace it with competences and look to problems that can be solved.

How To Use Brain Science To Be Your Best Self In 2017

How To Use Brain Science To Be Your Best Self In 2017 | Wiki_Universe | Scoop.it

Resolutions are often an exercise in wishful thinking. People rarely keep them, mostly because they’re vague about their goals and don’t have a plan for following through. But that isn't the only thing that may weaken resolve or slow progress toward a goal. Failing to understand some practical brain science can just as quickly do you in.

Neuroscience has shown us this year that we may actually have everything we need to stay focused, be more creative, remember more, and make better decisions—just as long as we can work a bit more with our brains, not against them. Here are a few things we learned that can take you closer toward being your best self in 2017.
