Celebrating who we REALLY are.

Sierra_Mcswagger's curator insight, May 2, 10:12 PM

When the U.S. Census Bureau in 2000, first allowed respondents to check off more than one race, 6.8 million people chose to do so. Ten years later that number jumped by 32 percent. Race is a lot deeper than skin color, many people identify themselves with multiple races but only look like one specific race.  A study of brain activity at the University of Colorado at Boulder showed that people register race in about one-tenth of a second, even before they register gender. People are always more than meets the eye.
