t in terms of larger, longer-term systems-level goals, Tesla Energy fulfills a number of preconditions that make such ambitions more achievable. Tesla is clearly demonstrating systems thinking, which is the first precondition. The second has to do with scope.
The IEEE Computer Society published last month a report titled “What Will Our World Look Like in 2022?” It identified 23 technology areas that we can expect to disrupt the state-of-the-art. These range from medical robotics to big data and analytics to photonics to 3D integrated circuits to quantum computing. The IEEE report is a bit different from similar attempts at predicting the future because it comes from technologists. Typically, predictions are the stock-in-trade of think tanks and research firms. Beyond the use of the word “disruptive,” there are other commonalities between the three reports. Robotics and drones, 3D printing, the Internet of Things and wearables, self-driving cars, and cloud computing appear in all or at least two of the reports. But, for the most part, there is not a whole lot of agreement on the disruptive technologies of the future
Business intelligence is the transformation of data into insightful, meaningful information that is useful to a business for making decisions and driving action. At its core are four pillars. It is critical that all four pillars are tackled in tandem when defining a business intelligence strategy. In my experience, I have seen clients begin with a focus solely on current state reports and/or the data warehouse. They neglect to understand how and to whom the information will be presented, or how the data may evolve, or the platform may scale. This leads to delays in getting the data out to the final consumer and ultimately a loss of faith in the system.

Any leader facing high levels of ambiguity needs to do two apparently paradoxical things: First, get comfortable with the idea of not having all the answers, and second, take steps to reduce the uncertainty.
